Refunds and Returns Policy

Last Updated: 30 July 2026

At Zimbi, we want you to shop with confidence. We are committed to supplying quality products and complying with all applicable South African consumer protection legislation.

This policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.

1. Your Rights

Your rights are protected by the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (“CPA”), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (“ECTA”), and other applicable South African legislation.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under South African law.

2. Incorrect Products

If we supply:

  • the wrong product;
  • the wrong quantity;
  • an incomplete order; or
  • a product materially different from what you ordered,

please notify us within 7 days of receiving your order.

Where appropriate we will, at our election:

  • replace the product;
  • exchange the product;
  • correct the order; or
  • refund the purchase price.

3. Damaged Goods

Please inspect your order as soon as possible after delivery.

If a product arrives damaged in transit, notify us within 48 hours and provide photographs of:

  • the packaging;
  • the shipping label; and
  • the damaged product.

Where the damage occurred before delivery to you, we will arrange collection and replacement or refund.

4. Defective Products

Under the Consumer Protection Act you are entitled to quality goods.

If a product develops a manufacturing defect within 6 months of delivery, you may return it to us.

Following inspection we may, in accordance with the CPA:

  • repair the product;
  • replace the product; or
  • refund the purchase price.

Normal wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, negligence, unauthorised modifications and improper maintenance are not regarded as manufacturing defects.

5. Warranty Claims

Some products are supplied with manufacturer warranties extending beyond the CPA.

Manufacturer warranties are administered according to the manufacturer’s warranty conditions.

The CPA rights described above continue to apply where applicable.

6. Change of Mind Returns

If you simply change your mind after purchasing a product, Zimbi may accept a return at its discretion.

To qualify:

  • the product must be unused;
  • in its original packaging;
  • complete with all accessories;
  • accompanied by proof of purchase; and
  • returned within 14 days of delivery.

Approved discretionary returns may be subject to:

  • inspection;
  • a reasonable handling or restocking fee where permitted by law; and
  • deduction of courier costs.

Certain products cannot be accepted for discretionary return.

7. Products That Cannot Be Returned

For health, safety, legal and regulatory reasons, the following products generally cannot be returned unless defective or incorrectly supplied:

  • Ammunition
  • Reloading powder
  • Primers
  • Percussion caps
  • Black powder
  • Primed cases
  • Reloading components once opened
  • Gift cards or vouchers

Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights in respect of defective products.

8. Firearms

Firearm transactions are regulated by the Firearms Control Act.

Where a firearm has already been registered, licensed or transferred into the customer’s name, returns may be subject to applicable legislation and SAPS procedures.

Refunds or cancellations cannot be processed where prohibited by law.

9. Optics and Accessories

Scopes, optics, electronic devices and accessories may be returned in accordance with this policy.

Products showing signs of misuse, installation damage or modification may not qualify for refund or exchange unless defective.

  • damage before delivery,

Zimbi will bear the reasonable return shipping costs.

Where the return results from a change of mind, the customer is responsible for return shipping unless otherwise agreed.

Where payment was made by EFT, refunds will generally be paid into the customer’s nominated South African bank account.

Refunds are normally processed within 7 business days after approval.

12. Exchanges

Where stock is available we may exchange products instead of issuing a refund.

Any price difference will be settled before the replacement product is released.
