Norma’s products are known worldwide for their high quality. The pods go a long way in building that reputation. Excellent quality means a long service life and enables the reloader to use it several times. The choice of materials, the careful controls of weight and dimensions during the manufacturing process always guarantee the highest quality.
In the neck area, the sleeve is annealed to become more flexible. This prevents gas from escaping and the sleeve is designed for several years of use without the material becoming fatigued and without cracking. Towards the bottom of the cartridge the case becomes harder to prevent expansion. However, the cartridge wall must not become too hard, otherwise the risk of cracking is too high.
The material around the primer is almost twice as hard as on the neck of the case. The surface structure of the material shows its tough nature. In the manufacturing process, the coarse, soft granules are processed into finer ones in order to increase the resistance of the material. If the finished formed sleeve is then hardened, the individual grains become coarser again. This is how the highest stability is achieved.
