Description
The Elephant Hunters of the Lado – Foran Robert
For those interested in African big game hunting and the history of the African colonial era this book will be a richly rewarding read. For the span of about a decade from 1901 to 1911 a portion of East Africa nominally governed by the Belgians became famous for profitable elephant poaching. The author, Robert Foran, was himself one of their number from time to time. He tells the story largely through biographical sketches of the major players along with their more interesting adventures.
